How to get to Navagio
There is no road down to the sand at Navagio. You go only by boat, from Makris Gialos beach, Volimes, Zakynthos, postcode 29091. Captain of Cruises leaves from there, daily 09:00–21:00, May through October.
Why not by car
The cove is closed in by white cliffs. A car stops at the viewpoint above. The sand and the Panagiotis wreck are reached from the sea.
The Captain of Cruises route starts at Makris Gialos in Volimes, not from Zakynthos town and not from another island.
Shared trip or private cruise
On the three-hour shared trip, Navagio is paired with the Blue Caves. On a private cruise the time in the cove is set with the skipper, when the sea allows an approach.
A rental without a skipper is not how we suggest a first visit. The mouth of the cove takes experience.
